The first home videos of Disney animated shorts that sold at a fairly affordable price for the time ($29.99- most Disney tapes sold for $70 or higher then). The Limited Gold Edition series featured retrospectives of most of the major characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Pluto- Goofy and Chip N’Dale were oddly passed over) and series (Silly Symphonies, Disney’s Best), with a brief documentary short and about four to seven shorts per tape.
